It’s A Wild Life With Born Free
International animal welfare and conservation charity Born Free is encouraging wildlife lovers to show support for this year’s World Wildlife Day, by wearing one of its special ‘It’s a Wild Life’ ribbons, snapping a selfie, and sharing on social media on Saturday 3rd March.
The eye-catching ribbons cost just £1.50 from Born Free’s online shop, and are a simple way of showing solidarity with some of our most vulnerable animals, and supporting Born Free’s vital wildlife conservation work.
Organised by the United Nations, World Wildlife Day is now in its fifth year, and the theme of this year’s campaign is ‘Big cats: predators under threat’.
Big cats are close to the heart of the Born Free Foundation. The charity was founded by actors Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers, along with their eldest son Will, following the couple’s iconic portrayal of Joy and George Adamson, who successfully rear and release orphaned lion cub Elsa in the classic film Born Free.
Born Free’s President, Will Travers OBE says: “Virginia and I wear our Born Free Wildlife Ribbons with pride – it is amazing how much attention they attract! This World Wildlife Day is your chance to stand up and be counted and to show your support for Big Cats, wildlife, the natural world and Born Free. Roar with Born Free on the 3rd of March (and every day!)”
