The Post House Café In Henfield
by Oliver Borrow
The Post House Café is a warm and cosy independent café in the centre of Henfield village. The café serves breakfast, lunch and homemade cakes as well as coffee and a selection of loose-leaf teas.
The Post House Café is famous for it’s coffee, made by barista trained staff using coffee that is roasted in the village and organic milk from The Goodwood Estate.
The café prides it’s self on locally sourced produce and sustainability. The fruit and veg is gathered daily from the local greengrocer, the meat comes from the local butcher, even the fruit juices are made in Sussex.
The Post House Café do not give out any plastic; the takeaway cups are compostable and the take away knives and forks are wooden.
They have reduced their food miles as much as possible; food comes from local suppliers and where possible is grown or produced in Sussex, even the New York style Pastrami is cured in Brighton.
Lunch is perfect for those who want a change from local pub food. Freshly made seasonal salads change daily and come with a healthy option of chicken breast or salmon or can be served with a hearty handmade pie. Large sourdough toasted sandwiches are created on a griddle for that perfect grilled sandwich taste. Jacket potatoes are warming and filled with homemade toppings such as coronation chicken or roasted salmon and lemon mayo.
Join them for Sunday brunch where you will find a delicious menu from butcher’s bacon sourdough rolls to Spinach baked eggs with chorizo and toast.
