St Wilfrid’s Hospice Closes All Shops
St Wilfrid’s Hospice will be closing all of its charity shops and their donation centre on Monday March 23rd from 2pm to minimise the risk of coronavirus to staff, volunteers, customers and supporters.
Laura Addison Retail Director said: “At St Wilfrid’s Hospice, we are listening closely to government guidance and are continually reviewing the potential impact of coronavirus and responding appropriately. We have taken this decision in order to minimise any risk as we maintain our commitment to playing a key role in our local community.
Our retail staff and volunteers have demonstrated amazing dedication to St Wilfrid’s Hospice during this period and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone.
We have reached a point where it is no longer appropriate to keep shops open, and will re allocate staff to ongoing Hospice activities including our EBay shop, where we will continue to trade.
As we rely on our shops to raise over £2.1million each year to continue caring for our community, this remains a critical time for St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
Our focus remains, as always, on the provision of compassionate care to our patients and their loved ones, with the support of our local community more important than ever.
