Music was my first love...

Music was my first love…

Echoing the lyrics of the hit tune from 1976, the Haywards Heath Music Society are forever seeking out performers who adore playing their instruments or singing their hearts out to the music they love.

Come and join us to hear the hugely popular local group Ensemble Reza on Saturday 9th February who will present an evening of Beethoven, Borodin and other string quartets at the Haywards Heath Methodist Church, Perrymount Road at 7pm.

Younger talent eager to show their prowess are invited to audition for the Young Musicians’ Showcase on Wednesday 13th Feb, at 4-7pm in St Wilfrid’s Church with the concert on Saturday 16th March at 2.30pm.

The Australian violinist Emily Sun has gained international recognition in Paris, Moscow, Sydney and London concert halls and opera houses, and will play a variety of works by Beethoven, Poulenc, Strauss and Frolov, accompanied by pianist Jennifer Hughes on Saturday 23rd March 7.30pm at St Wilfrid’s Church, Haywards Heath.

Our season concludes with a solo performance by the celebrated award winning pianist Samson Tsoy who is well known to British concert goers from his appearances with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and recitals at the Barbican and BBC Proms.

Put that in your diary for Saturday 27th April, 7.30pm at St Wilfrid’s Church, Haywards Heath.

The concerts are open to non-members, and tickets, priced at £12 members and £15 non-members, are available from Carousel Music (Tel: 01444 417654) or on the door.

To encourage parents to bring their family along, up to two adults accompanied by an under-18 will be admitted for half price.
