Super-tasty but alcohol-free – these spring drinks by Nicole Tata are just the thing for a hot afternoon or a balmy evening. To your health!

Fizz on the Beach

  • Serves 4

A variation on a well-known cocktail, this is safe for all ages to indulge!

  • 200ml cranberry juice
  • 200ml grapefruit juice
  • 150ml peach nectar
  • 300ml sparkling or soda water
  • 4 Maraschino cherries

Pour over ice into chilled glasses and top with sparkling water. Garnish with a cherry and slurp naughtily through a paper straw.

Nino’s Banana Colada

  • Serves 4

Escape to far-flung shores, as you close your eyes for a taste of heaven.

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 300ml pineapple juice
  • 150ml coconut milk
  • 150ml water
  • Dash of lime juice
  • 2 large handfuls of ice cubes

Whizz everything up in a blender until smooth. Serve in pretty glasses with a straw, and garnish with pineapple wedges if the mood strikes you.

Note: If you’re not keen on coconut or desire a more smoothie-like consistency, simply replace the coconut milk with plain yogurt.

Sussex Sunrise

  • Serves 4

Surely the most delicious way to get a shot of Vitamin C this spring…

  • 600ml freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 60ml Grenadine (or use a red berry cordial if you don’t like the taste of pomegranate)
  • Orange slices to garnish
  • Lots and lots of ice

Fill four tall tumblers with ice and orange juice. Pour in the grenadine and watch it settle at the bottom. Garnish with orange slices and one of those cute little cocktail umbrellas, and sip in the sunshine.

Faux Champagne

  • Serves 4

Add a touch of class for an evening tipple without getting squiffy, dahling!

  • 350ml mineral water
  • 350ml ginger ale
  • 250ml white grape juice
  • 4 medium-sized strawberries (optional)

Combine all (well-chilled!) ingredients in a posh glass jug to serve, or pour into individual champagne flutes for a real sense of occasion. Pop a strawberry into the bottom of each glass to added extra mmmh!
