Lindfield Roving Lunch And Foodfest
Event postponed as of March 18th
Lindfield has a highly successful Arts Festival, a Village Day, a spectacular Bonfire Night and popular Christmas Evening, and now it is going to have a Food Festival on Sunday 10th May. The Rotary Club of Cuckfield & Lindfield intends to make this an annual event to become as big and popular as the other successful activities in the village.
The restaurants and cafés are enthusiastic in their support and are laying on buffets or special dishes for you to try. The local producers are keen for you to taste their wares before you buy. Do come along, with your family and friends to make this a special occasion.
Lindfield is fortunate in having lots of food establishments. The idea of the Roving Lunch is to eat courses at different venues.
To take part in the Roving Lunch you will need to purchase a voucher for a £10 or £15 special main course (children under 11 half price), for a sitting at one of the participating restaurants. See website www.rotarycl.org for the full programme of delicious main course choices and seating times for each eatery. Vouchers for ways to finish off your meal in local cafés range from £3 to £5. Watch out for posters and leaflets in local establishments.
The FoodFest will be in King Edward Hall where you will find a range of stalls, occupied by local producers of delightful goodies ranging from cheeses, artisan breads, brownies, farm produce, speciality meats, ice cream, French food, speciality spirits and beers, and much more. Everybody loves to sample and buy food that is produced in their locality, especially when they can meet and chat with the dedicated people who produce it. There will also be a Children’s Food Quiz and a Prize Tombola.
During the last 20 years the Rotary Club has raised more than £400,000 which has been used to support over a hundred local charities, large and small, as well as some well identified international projects. You can help this work by taking part in the Grand Prize Draw, with the chance of winning a valuable prize.
