Lindfield annual Bonfire Night celebrations

Lindfield annual Bonfire Night celebrations

FireworksLindfield Bonfire Society will be holding their annual Bonfire Night celebrations for the people of Lindfield on Tuesday 5th November this year.

The program of events is as follows:

6.30pm Fancy Dress Competition – King Edward Hall
7.30pm Torchlit Procession leaves KEH, proceeds down Black Hill, left into Hickman’s Lane, past the Witch Public House, continuing along Pickers Green where we pause for re-torching.We then turn right into the High Street between Doodie Stark and Barnlands, continue down the High Street and onto the Common opposite Pondcroft. The procession will cross the Common to the fire site, where we will have the traditional bonfire prayer.
8.15pm Grand Firework Display.

Roads will be closed between 6.30pm and 9.00pm.

LBS would like to remind all attending that letting off fireworks of any kind, including sparklers, in a public place is not allowed.

Our Marshalls meeting will be on Thursday 17th October at 7.30pm and we would be pleased to meet anyone who wishes to help, or join LBS and take part in the procession on the 5th,  to come along and find out more.

We would welcome more members to the Society as every subscription goes towards the cost of the fireworks, hire of the Common, road closure fees, and all the other expenses involved in organising such a large event. Proceeds from the night of the 5th are donated to local children’s charities so it is important that we fundraise throughout the year.

The Lindfield Village Calendar is bigger and better this year, and will be available to purchase from Glyn Thomas Butchers, Mark Revill Estate Agents, Sarah Lacey Drycleaning and other shops to be confirmed. At £6 each they make fantastic Christmas presents and are available with envelopes.
