Hollywood Is Coming!

Hollywood Is Coming!

There’s only a few days until all the excitement of the St Lawrence Fair hits Hurstpierpoint village! It’s going to be a great weekend, with plenty going on for everyone – children and adults alike!

St Lawrence FairIt kicks off on Friday afternoon with the Teddy Bear’s Picnic at 12.30pm for the under 5’s. This is a lovely event, with just a small donation giving you a magic show, craft activity, cake decorating, ice lolly and a fairground ride! Just don’t forget those snuggly teddies! Later that evening from 6pm is the wonderful family BBQ, junior disco and kids tug of war. This is a night that mustn’t be missed… last year was so much fun. There will be some young local talent singing, and then Jukebox Jam and FranClassic will play into the evening. With both the BBQ and the Hurstbarpoint available, all you need to do is come along, sit back and enjoy!

We then have the main event… Fair Day… this Saturday! If you or your children aren’t in the procession then be sure to line the streets and cheer them all on as they make their way into the Arena on South Avenue Green. Everyone goes to so much effort to dress up and decorate their floats, and we are all looking forward to seeing their Hollywood themed entries this year.

St Lawrence FairThere is so much to see and do for the rest of the afternoon – lots of stalls to wander round; the Street Food Market; our Kids Area behind the tennis courts; the Fun Run; the tug of war; our Arena events and of course, our Grand Finale. Keep a listen out to our Master of Ceremonies so you don’t miss out on anything. It’s going to be a great day as always.

The fair committee would like to give a big thank you to those who have come along and supported the pre-events already. Hurst’s Got Talent had a fantastic turnout, and all the children who performed were amazing. Well done to Holly Barbour who will officially open the Fair on the 4th July. We saw some very cute small pets at the Pet Show, and the dogs all behaved amazingly whilst performing in their different classes. Don’t forget that the Star Finder window competition is on until 2nd July, so you still have time to get your forms from Mishon Mackay.

All that is left to say for now is we hope you enjoy the weekend, and thank you all so much for your support! Keep a look out for our collection pots to show your appreciation, and be sure to come and buy your 50/50 raffle tickets from the information tent!
