A Family Effort At South Downs Nurseries

Judges of a colouring competition staged at a Hassocks garden centre were intrigued when they came across two of the many entries: one was for Lucier, aged four, and the other labelled Grandad 71 ½.

“We do love a family effort here at South Downs Nurseries”, explains Rebecca Houghton-Knappp from the Brighton Road business, “so we contacted ‘Grandad’, who turned out to be Colin Bailey from Hassocks.

“Lucie had just gone back to school today so couldn’t come with him, but Grandad was more than happy to collect her goodie bag for her, as well as receiving a delicious cream tea for two for his colouring efforts as well.”
