Dolphin Leisure Centre Set for £200,000 Of Improvements
To be completed by the end of this year the improvement works, jointly funded by Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC) and Places Leisure (PL), will improve vital areas of the Dolphin Leisure Centre in Haywards Heath.
The jointly funded works have already seen an upgrade to the ground floor toilets, improvements to the wet changing area, to the studio, and the conversion of the old bar area into an additional treatment room.
Now further improvements are planned that include the addition of a Costa Coffee and a soft play section into the existing café area.
Councillor John Belsey MSDC’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Service Delivery said “We are delighted to be able to fund these improvements to one of our best used leisure facilities, along with our partners Places Leisure. We believe these improvements will ensure that the Dolphin remains as popular and as frequented as ever. We are committed to ensuring that all of our leisure centres offer world class facilities that can be enjoyed by all sections of the Mid Sussex Community”.
Once complete the improvement works will have included:
- Improvements to reception and cafe to incorporate a Costa and a soft-play facility
- Conversion of the existing studio into a new training room
- Conversion of the old bar area into an additional treatment room
- Improvements to the group cycle studio
- Replacement tiling in the wet changing area
- The upgrade of the ground floor toilets
