Christmas Weekends At Amberley Museum

Christmas Weekends At Amberley Museum

As December approaches we are getting ready for our Christmas weekends here at Amberley Museum. On the 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th December, you can enjoy one of our festive weekends at our Museum.

On each day we will be open from 10am until 5pm for you to explore around our 36 acre site. Discover and learn about our exhibits, and have fun taking a ride on our narrow gauge railway and historic bus. As it is Christmas, you can also visit our Museum at a festive price of £10 per adult, £8 per child, Under 4’s and Museum members visit for free.

Around our Museum you can take part in festive activities, including our Christmas trail to find where the naughty Elves are hiding. Visit our wood turners to have a go at turning festive shapes. Have fun in the pottery where you can play with clay, and you can even send a telegram to the North Pole in our BT Connected Earth exhibit. With Christmas market stalls inside some of our heritage buildings, you can also pick up some special Christmas gifts.

In our Museum café we will be serving festive roast dinners and lighter bites, to keep you warm on these winter days. Our gift shop is also stocked with local produce, Christmas gifts, and some smaller items ideal for stocking fillers.

Also we will be previewing a new exhibit and retail area, with our new Village Green Store, opening for the first time on the 1st December. Visit our 1950’s style village store to pick up some gifts and treats.

Amberley Museum is a remarkable heritage site in the Sussex South Downs, with 36 acres to explore and over 40 exhibit buildings to visit, focusing on industrial and transport history.

We are looking forward to our 2019 season, when we will be opening from the 16th February until the 3rd November. We will be celebrating our 40th Birthday on the 26th May as part of our Heritage Craft Weekend, over the late May Bank Holiday.
