Childhood Bereavement Charity Seeking Volunteers In The South East
Winston’s Wish, a charity that supports children after the death of a parent or sibling, is looking for volunteers. Every day, more than 100 children are bereaved of a parent in the UK. The death of a loved one is the most fundamental loss a child will ever face. Each year, Winston’s Wish reaches thousands of bereaved children and young people through an array of dedicated services. The charity depends on the help of volunteers to ensure that they are able to support all of the bereaved children and families who contact them.
Winston’s Wish is hosting a Volunteer Open Evening on the 28th June 2018 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at their office in Hove for people to come along and find out more about the important work they do to help bereaved children and young people face the future with confidence and hope. This is a great opportunity for people to help the charity support children and young people, generate awareness in the local community, and raise vital funds.
Interested volunteers don’t need experience; just a willingness to help and a little time, and Winston’s Wish will ensure that they are well looked after and leave knowing that every hour of their time has been well spent in helping give hope to grieving children.
Cristina Schmidt, a volunteer for Winston’s Wish, said: “It is a great privilege to help fundraise for a charity that has massive personal meaning to me as a single parent, and comforting to know that if something ever happened to me, Winston’s Wish would be there for my son.”
The event is being held at Winston’s Wish, Ventnor Villas, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 3DD.
