Aladdin Cast Get Into The Christmas Spirit With Crawley Open House

The cast and crew of The Hawth’s pantomime Aladdin and staff at the Crawley Theatre have come together to donate food and other provisions to Crawley Open House this Christmas.

The idea came from the pantomime cast, who decided that instead of buying the traditional opening night gifts for one another, they would instead buy items for the local charity.

Crawley Open House provides support and services for those suffering the effects of homelessness, unemployment, loneliness, discrimination, or other forms of social exclusion.

The Aladdin cast are currently one week into their month long run at The Hawth and wanted to give something back to the local community who are supporting them on stage. Thousands have already come along to enjoy the festive treat, which stars Dancing on Ice’s Jason Gardiner along with Shaheen Jafargholi (EastEnders), Britain’s Got Talent and The Imitation Game’s Jess Robinson and Crawley’s favourite Dame, Michael J Batchelor as well as comedian Ian Jones as Wishee Washee, who came up with the charitable suggestion.

Dave Watmore, General Manager at The Hawth said, “As a theatre we pride ourselves on being a key part of the community in Crawley and so I’m delighted that the pantomime cast felt they wanted to support a local charity in this way. I think it’s a wonderful gesture which encapsulates the spirit of Christmas. What’s more festive than pantomime and sharing with others? We all hope the donations make a real difference to those who need them.”
